i like the idea of it. but i think you need to pay more attention on the lighting and shadows.
i have some suggestions:
1) u may like to add a wall behind him. if you want the figure to be as stand out as much as the shadow.
2) i would push the figure a little back away from the edge. figures on the side usually are less important. or make him bigger.
3) the shadow shapes. i am having trouble to define what is it suppose to be. i wouldn't have it overlapping with the title since it is important for theme of the cover.
